Definition of Homozygous
Actually, the word Homo means “same”, and a word Zygous means “having zygotes of a definite type”.

Definition of Heterozygous

And organism is said to be heterozygous when new gene receive different alleles from both parents. In heterozygous, two different alleles exist for a particular gene. For example, one parent has blood type “A”, and other has blood type “B”, the offspring may have both different alleles as blood type “AB”.
